2031 Runnymede Avenue, Oak Bay
2031 Runnymede Avenue, Oak Bay was designed and built in 1916 by Victoria architect Samuel Maclure for Harry Allan Ross and his fiance Jennie Butchart, the eldest daughter of Robert Butchart and Jennie Butchart.
Harry Ross was the Treasurer of the Vancouver Portland Cement Company and married the Butchart’s daughter Jennie in 1917. Their son. Robert Ian Ross, became owner of the Butchart Gardens in 1938.
2031 Runnymede Avenue is listed on the Oak Bay Heritage Register.
