Robert Butchart was on the B.C. Advisory Board of the Toronto General Trusts Corporation, a Toronto based trust company. In this capacity he provided the company with advice on investments in British Columbia.
At the time Robert Butchart was involved with the Toronto General Trusts Company, the other members of the B.C. Advisory Board were Eric W. Hamber (1879-1960), Lieutenant Governor of B.C. between 1936 and 1941, Vancouver lawyer Albert Howard MacNeill, K.C. and Victoria businessman Frederick Bernard Pemberton (1865-1947).
