In the late 1930’s, when Robert Butchart and Jennie Butchart became physically incapable of maintaining their home and gardens at Benvenuto , they moved to the home of their eldest daughter at 906 St. Charles Street in Victoria’s Rockland district.
Robert Butchart died at 906 St. Charles Street in 1943. Jennie Butchart died there in 1950. The Butchart’s daughter, Princess Chihkmatoff, lived there until her death in 1972.
